Ernie,
Thanks for looking into this. Would you mind expanding on your Jquery answer just a little - I'm trying to understand how this might work,
Thanks
I wanted do dinamicaly generate a tabbed structure, with the help of the jquery ui, based on the content of certain blog entries filtered on the basis of certain tags...
or example. It's a fairly easy PHP hack, you just have to record the ID of the comment another comment is in reply to, in the Ning "content store." jQuery can't access this store, which is Ning's equivalent to a database. You would have to create a database on your own server and access it with jQuery getJSON calls. A comment ID and a parent comment ID would be stored for each new comment. When the page gets generated, jQuery could access your database and then re-arrange the comments on the page into a threaded format based on these two ID values. The call to get the data from your db could take a noticeable amount of time and the delay might be annoying for your users. The proper way to do this is via the PHP source code. Maybe Ning will implement this feature for all of us someday!…
left and middle column on the Main Page, using a div. Currently I have a picture straddling the two columns - see attachments.
Instead of just a picture I would like to have a jQuery slideshow (found here: http://www.gruppo4.com/~tobia/cross-slide.shtml - it's the Ken Burn's one @ the bottom). I have being trying to copy in the code into the div but have had no success. I am not even sure if that's the right thing to do. I cannot get the example code to show, and don't really know where to start if I am perfectly honest...
Does anyone have any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.…
