Membership management on a Ning site

Hello, I am creating a site for a state association and they want integrate their membership database with the Ning site. They want to be able to track who paid their dues and list their status, i.e. Membership paid to 9/09 on each members page. They would also like to list any workshops people have signed up for and a few other items. This would require administrators modifying member data and posting it in a way that member cannot edit it. Is there a fairly simple way to provide this functionality? Keep in mind that I am rated "Cowboy Neal" on the cluelessness scale.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Robert! To be honest, there's not a real simple way to provide this functionality, because importing member information into Ning is difficult as well as the fact that you're trying to track information about them and have some pretty advanced permission options. While Ning is good at features to a social network, it sounds like something like a CMS is more appropriate for what you need.
