Ning Developer Docs

This and other codes are appearing from my friends - vn6c2uvyz4z9
as opposed to their name.

Some of them were invited to join my site yesterday and I would have expected them to have appeared as members.

Any ideas?

Hi Mark,

This is a bug that we'll be fixing with the release tonight.

Thanks,
Phil
well they still show!
Hi Jamie,

They may still show when you're messaging someone and hit 'reply to', but they shouldn't be showing up in the Ningbar itself when you do things like check your friend requests. if you're seeing anything like that, please let us know.

Thanks,
Phil
Hi Phil

I still keep seeing the same having reported this issue now a few times...

I'm just told constantly - next release....

It's a little annoying now that my site is growing.

Mark
Hi Mark,

Are you seeing them when you hit 'reply to' for a message, or are you seeing them elsewhere in the Ningbar?

Thanks,
Phil
i see them when i hit reply to in the ning bar, and i also see them on the share page (when i share blogs/photos/videos etc), when i select "share with friends".
Hello Phil....

Yep in Reply or the Sent items box and in the invite areas like Jamie....
Yes, the Ningbar isn't 'network aware' so it can't know what someone's profile name on a specific network is. We'll be migrating messaging into the network app and out of the Ningbar; until that happens this will continue to be a problem I'm afraid.

Thanks,
Phil
Ok... How long is that Phil ???

It's a pain in the neck when you go back to review a sent item....
Hi Mark,

I don't know when that's slated for implementation; not likely in the next couple of months though.

Thanks,
Phil
