Calendar and Polling and SubGroups

I am wondering if there is an event calendar and polling feature that can be embedded into a NING community. And also, groups are a great feature. Is is possible to have subgroups?

Hi Sandy,

An events calendar will be included in the next release (more details on Network Creators). It's not possible to have subgroups, though if you're a developer that kind of functionality could be built in. There's a discussion of some options for embedding polls on Network Creators.

I suppose I have made some progress on subgroups.

I decided to use the Discussions Forum for the broader topics and subtopics. When a subtopic pops up that generates interest, I create a group for it.

Although disjointed, it works.

I would really like to be able to add music and videos to the groups.

Hi Sandy,

I'm in the process of building my community and found this discussion about sub-groups, which I would love to have. Anyway, I would point you to http://ezcooking.ning.com/group/lambrecipes where I have added a video to a group, using the 'embed' coding provided. I would imagine that adding music would be fairly simple.

I would like knowing more about your work-around for sub-groups. I'm not sure it would work in my case, but perhaps I could adapt it.
