Is it possible to generate user statistics from the profile questions? (i.e., the number of users in a particular age category or the percentage of female users?)

If a script is not available, is it possible to export member profile data to a statistical package such as SPSS, where I can analyze the data?
You can export your member data into CSV format using the link on the Manage->Members page.

From there, you can do whatever you like to analyze the data.
Hi Phil,

I have noticed on a couple threads that you have informed people that the can export their member data into CSV format from the Manage, Members tab.

I don't see any such way to do this from Manage, Members. Can you tell me more precisely how I can access this function? I'm attaching a screen shot of that page in my network (www.thecmoclub.com) in case it's just me...

Many thanks for your help!
Lauren

It's on the Manage->Members tab, below the last member on that page:

Hi Phil,

Sorry to be difficult! I'm quite certain my member manage section does not have the "Export All Member Data" option. The "Invite More People" is located at the top and there is nothing at the bottom. Is is perhaps that this function was accidentally blocked when we were customizing the site from the back end?

I'm attaching screen shots of the top and bottom of the page:

Is your network de-centralized, i.e. did you ask for access to the source code? If so, you may not have the source code for this feature available to you.

You would have to re-centralize your code (and lose any mods you made) or manually merge it yourself (using a second site to get the current source code)
Thanks, Phil.

Do you know off-hand--what are some other side-effects to having a de-centralized network? This could obviously be a big question, but if you were able to just name a couple other functions such as the above, that would be helpful for me to have on my radar.

Thanks again!
Lauren
Hi Lauren,

The best place to keep up-to-date on the latest releases is the Ning Blog.

I can't think off-hand what major items have been in recently releases, but there are generally lots of minor improvements and one or two larger items. It's worth re-syncing from time-to-time.
