Ning Developer Docs

Hi i know that this is not a lay out question, i sent an email to ning but i didnt receive any reply from them yet. Its been a long time already, My question is, is there any chance you can set who can and who cannot delete thread post on forums. The thing is, sometimes some thread starters tends to delete their post but its kinda unfair for those other members who shared many informations on that thread already. And to those people who's following that thread. Is there a feature or code that i can use so i can assing who can start a thread, who can open it, who can moderate it and who can delete it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The person who starts a thread can delete it. It's their perrogative as the author. Moderators can lock a thread. The same as a personal blog. Sorry, that's just Ning.
Well yeah its Ning what can we do. But i think its not good, its ok with blog because of the author thing. They can decide either they keep or they delete their blog post because its their writing and they owned it. But forums are group of people sharing ideas. When you post a thread sometimes many people respond to that thread and builds a lot of information there. And i beleive that they do not own that information(the thread starter) and its kinda unfair for those people following that thread. Sometimes people are just posting question as a start like this one, and if many people answers this question a lot of people will going to benefit from this thread because this is gonna be a compilation of information and if i am to greedy or just playing stupid, since i created this thread i will going to erase this and lose all the information thats included on this thread. im sorry i cannot express my self nice in english but i hope you understand what i mean. When you create a thread and people answers to your thread that becomes they thread as well. And we should have the authority as the administrator who should and who should not to moderate or erase the threads. We are losing a lot of valuable information on our community because of this hole in this system. I still like ning and i still thinks its the best thing happens to the internet, i am just dissapointed on that part.
