Is there any easy to change the names of the tabs as they currently are. For instance, if I want to change "members" to "fans" what are my options?

Hi Dean,

The text is taken from the 'instance' XML file that you have the ability to edit.

Go to the source code edit page:

http://www.ning.com/home/apps/edit?appUrl=your-network-name

(e.g. your-network-name is the X in X.ning.com)

Click into the instances folder, then into the folder of the widget title you want to change.

Then click the widget-configuration.xml file and change the text within the 'title' and 'displayName' tags.

Please take care not to accidentally delete the '<' brackets.
Hi Phil, thanks for this, but..

I have change the tab title of 'forum' to 'history city' - a gig-archive page I want to build - but when I go there, there are still 'forum' headers all over the page. http://hueandcry.ning.com/forum Can 'forum' be changed to 'history city' whenever it appears? And ideally, could I change the very extention from hueandcry.ning.com/forum to hueandcry.ning.com/historycity?

best, pk
Yes - check out the language editor on the Manage tab. Search for the string 'forum' and make any adjustments you'd like to.
clicking on that Dustin, says 'no such page on ning'. Right URL?
That works fabulously, thanks Phil. But the url extension question I asked above - how can that be addressed?
There's no "Members" folder in the instances folder. Where can I find the widget to change the nav tab that says "Members" to something else?
