Ning Developer Docs

Hi all, please help.

I do not have the source code, I prefer it centralised for auto updates. There's only a couple of things I need to customise/automate - and they're done off site.

All I need is the memberdata.csv file which is obtained from the Manage Members page -> Export All Member Data (.CSV).

This is then auto downloaded over SFTP to a remote server - I pick out the users and do stuff using scripts.

Problem is, the memberdata.csv file only ever updates if you manually go to the site and choose to export the data. I cannot find a way to automate this bit. There must be a way using the Curl library or something... All I want is for the data to update itself every 24 hours or so.

Hello Aaron!

There isn't a way to run automatic jobs on your network. To work around this, you could write a script on your local machine that hits a PHP file on your network every 24 hours. The file on your network can generate the member CSV file and then you can download it when you're ready.

Cheers!

Hi. I have tried to "Export All Member Data (.CSV)" in Firefox and IE7. It goes through the motions but never asks me where to save the file. Never even seems to create a file. The pop-up window says it completed. But where's the file? I checked my Desktop and MyDocuments. Nothing. Thanks. (I'm doing this manually, not automated.)

For me, when I use FF, the file ends up in my Downloads folder. Maybe it's there for you too?

Best wishes,
