Is there a ranking system in place that can rank members by their participation in a community? For example, members can earn "points" for participating in discussions, posting blog entries, adding videos, and other community activities. Also, can other members award "points" to other members for answering their questions, helping them out in the community, etc?
I'd like to customize a ranking system like this if possible to use different classifications of rank with visual icons/pics to indicate a members level.
This is a very fascinating idea I'd like to incorporate into my community. It will not only encourage members to stay active, but motivate them to help others and raise their level of prestige within the community.

It is the biggest thing that Ning is missing right now.. I hope it is a priority for them because the competition has it.
Has anyone written ning about this directly? I will and I'll post their response.

I inquired with Ning and got the following response. I think it would help if EVERYONE wrote in and opened a ticket about the issue.. It sounds like they are far away from getting this live for us and we need to do everything we can to stress the importance...

Hi John!
Implementing a points/rewards system is definitely something we're interesting in doing. It isn't on our current roadmap, but I know it's a popular request and I'll add your vote to our tally for this feature.
Thanks!
Laura

hey john,
can you post how to do it. or at least the contact of the person you talked to.
that way all requests go to the same address.
thx for being part of the movement to get this finally going.....

Yes, it is a little tricky finding exactly where to submit a help request on the ning network.. go to help.ning.com then sign in or sign up. Then at the bottom of the home page (just above the green footer part) you will see Contact Us. Click on Send us your question.
here is the latest response I got from them-
Our developers are constantly working on improving the platform -- both externally and internally facing improvements. We take suggestions and requests seriously, too. While this isn't currently scheduled, it doesn't mean it's never going to happen -- it just isn't planned in the next three months.

ok thx.
why did they close scripts4ning if nothing is coming within 6 months after closing it?
anyway i try my luck there and many others should do to.
Here is ning's response to my question of if a ratings/level system is anywhere on their roadmap. Typical BS response from them.

Hi Doc!
Right now this feature isn't on our immediate roadmap, but it's definitely something that is filed and under consideration for the future. I've added your vote and comments to that feature request.
Hope that helps!
Cheers,
Susan

It sounds like a canned response that they all have to say... grrrrr..
