I added a new page a couple of days ago and it was fine for about 18-20 hours. Then it dissappeared and I have'nt had any luck in getting it or another to show up. I have deleted the file and directory and re-installed...but still no luck. Any help..?????
We uploaded an application on friday. Everything was working. Now this morning the page tab is gone at the top of the navigation and we have not touched the source. Please advice, this is a big problem.
i changed the widget ID and the title but it still is not coming up.
Ok... figured it out based on this topic comment: http://developer.ning.com/forum/topic/show?id=1185512%3ATopic%3A17837
I have added a page for users to add extra material (Xtra)that they don't want to add on their personal pages (they can create their own page here) and I have created an "INSTUCTIONS" page within it. How do I keep this particular entry on top of the entry list so it is the first one they see.
OK.... now this is BS. Changed the private file described in the link i posted above... this morning the tab is again missing and the private file reverted back to "0". I have changed the widget id number, changed its title and display name so that does not conflict with what is on my test network. Why is this happening how can i stop this!!
And again it happened. This sucks. I dont want to keep uploading that xml file from the private folder to have to fix the disappearing tab.
Hi Gianni,

This will likely happen each time you go to Manage -> Features, make a change and hit save.

Thanks,
Phil
Hey Phil:

As far as I can tell, I followed all the instructions for adding the tab but it's not showing up. Do I need to upload or download anything?

Also.....if adding several tabs, do they go under the original "page" directory or do I need to add a new "page" directory for each tab? Sorry.........this is all new to me!

Rick
Hi Rick,

Your widget-configuration.xml file has some extra characters in it so it's not parsing correctly:

Try editing it and removing the dashes on the left hand side and things should work correctly.

Thanks,
Phil
Hi Erosity,

There isn't a simple way to do that. An alternative might be to create two instances of the page feature, and only show the tab on one, and have it contain a single page that has links to the other resources. When people click on the tab they'll get the page of links that you put together in the order that you choose.

Thanks,
Phil
got it... we placed the "feature" of our widget to the homepage. Hopefully it will stay there when we manage. But the question is how does the video, photo and other widgets maintain themselves in the nav if you do not put a "physical" feature in the layout of the page, like the a slideshow, etc.

Phil thanks for the response.
