Hey Phil - this is exactly what I needed. I have implemented several new tabs with multiple pages on each. My question is - is there any way to password protect one of these new directories so that I can use these to display content that is not available to the general public. i don't want to make my entire network private, only restrict access to one of the directories I've created for displaying pages. I have already turned off the appearance of the tab, but when you link to one of the files it displays the path to the directory where these pages are stored.

Thanks for the help.
Hi CU Boulder Independent Learning,

There isn't a mechanism to password protect a directory I'm afraid. If you have access to the full source for your network you might be able to build this in using PHP. I have experimented with this in the past and have not had much luck though.

Thanks,
Phil
Thanks for your time - is there a mechanism in place to see what new 'options' will be available with the next update and to request certain features?
There is a wishlist category over on Network Creators where you can tell us what you'd like, and Kyle generally does a screencast letting everyone know what's coming up in the next release on his blog.

Cheers,
Phil
when adding multiple pages i want some to allow commenting and others not but it seems that it keys into the initial page i added when i try and make it so that a set # of new pages can have user comments enabled and others not it only matters what that first instance of the page thing discussed in this discussion is set to. is there a way to seperate these out so that commenting can be page determined not just for that one instance?? or am i missing something completely
See Phil T.'s reply of 21st Jan in this thread - deals with this.
This is a bug that's fixed in the upcoming release.

Thanks,
Phil
HI,
I have managed to create an additional page in which I now have a chat feature. However, I don't seem to be able to create additional pages (tabs). I think I am following all the instructions correctly but they just do not show on the site. Can anyone give me any hints?
Hi Phil,

I followed your instructions on "Adding pages to your network" discussion but it seems my new tab in nopt displaying...

1.) My Social Networks / Hope Cybrary/ >>> i created the page directory in here
2.) My Social Networks / Hope Cybrary / page / widget-configuration.xml >>> i copied ur xml file

then i referehed my site but the page tab wasnt there. Why is that?

Regards,
Rommel
Hi Rommel,

The page directory needs to be created inside the instances directory as per the instructions.

Thanks,
Phil
Hi hotcatmaster,

Did you create additional page instances inside of the instances directory in order to create additional tabs? I had a look at your network's source code but didn't see any there. You essentially follow the instructions again but you put the additional instance in a new directory.

Thanks,
Phil
Could you please outline the steps to do this?

What should my code look like on the widget-configuration.xml page? where do the tags go? What code from the google Maps API should I cut and paste in?
