Chat Feature - How can you stop this from constantly popping up everytime you refresh the page ?

I am the creator of my social netowork and I have recently added the chat feature, but it seems to be faulty. Everytime you navigate to a new page or refresh the page the chat window pops up despite closing it.

Can anyone offer any advice ?

I have some of my members complaining about the same thing happening to them. I would hope for an answer to this as well.
