Creating a facebook app to show rss feeds from your site

So far I have managed to create an audio App using Ning's very easy to use pre-formatted tools. However, I now wish to have an RSS feed of content (book reviews from my site www.authearth.com) as an App on facebook (and elsewhere). Will try to do it tonight but if anyone has managed this before would be grateful for advice.
Also I think we need more support on how to create gadgets and widgets rather than just using the ones that already exist. 1st up for me is the ability to create a widget based on user profile info which is on the main page and shows users favourite books (as specified by them in their sign up info). Again all help appreciated.
