Developer Roadmap Update (OpenSocial REST APIs Now Available)

We're excited to announce that we've made major progress on the Developer Roadmap we outlined in May.

Here's what's new for OpenSocial developers...

1) OpenSocial REST and RPC APIs are now available! To help you learn more, we invite you to visit our revamped and updated OpenSocial documentation section.

2) Ning Pro subscribers are now able to add 10 total Ning Apps to their networks.

3) For developers that haven't yet taken advantage of our new Main Page view to gain additional exposure for their app, please visit this section of the new documentation.

One more thing...

We're in the midst of a private beta program for our upcoming Ning API launch. If you're a Network Creator (or have worked with a Network Creator) that may be interested in doing custom development work, please check out this opportunity.

Thanks!

Hi Kasper,

We submitted a patch to the opensocial-php-client that will make the library work properly. Check out the code in the patch for an example.

I would like to used the Third-legged oauth to contact my NING network from the outside wihtout a gadget - just as the example code in opensocial-php-client (http://code.google.com/p/opensocial-php-client/). The form to request the keys are working for me (there is a scripting error when I submit).
Does anyone have another example on using REST API from outside your NING network with Oauth authentication?

In the new OpenSocial documentation portion about OAuth, it says "Every application requires a consumer key and secret that uniquely identifies the application and allows the application to securely sign requests. To obtain the consumer credentials, you must contact Ning directly and we will issue them to you. " Who do we contact? No contact information is listed.
