Chat room is converting URLs to show $1

The chat room on my network is converting URL's into $1 symbols, and when you click on it, it goes to pages like http://4a79.chat04.ningim.com:8080/chat/$1

Any thoughts? This is only happening to .com .net and .org urls.. .co.uk and others seem to work fine..

I have the same problem on my network and also french accent or special french accent does not work seems there is a problem with UTF8 conversion

The Chat room works for some users now and not others, should they be doing something? I suggested to clear caches, but those who did still have the issue of seeing $1

It's back to showing $1 again.. and it takes people to http://$1/ instead of the link I placed in there..

plz fix soon :)

just found the ning creators network and joined that too.. and found a forum discussion that looks like it was started today..

Goofing around, it appears that http://developer.ning.com/chat/ doesn't have the issue either.. but every other network I belong to does.. so I wonder if there is a unreleased chat up with the issue fixed..?
