I already have the forwarding feature working! What I want to know is how do I get it to stay as my websites name in the address bar instead of saying my NING address. I see www.thisis50.com has that feature so it is doable...can anyone help me out?
You have to buy that premium ning service option. You have to register a domain name with a registrar company like godaddy, looks like you already did that. Now you have to do this at that (godaddy or where ever you registered the domain name) account:
The way to set a domain up so it is fully functional and pointing to your network (without the .ning) is with the CNAME, or Canonical Name, record. Your DNS management settings at your registrar should have a section for your CNAME record, where you can set your domain to point to your network. It will look something like this www.yourdomain.com >> CNAME >> yournetwork.ning.com It can take up to 48 hours for any DNS changes to propagate.
Hope this helps. I hope Max B blow up too, I think Jim did him dirty. We dont have alot of members but he has still has our support. (pickurstyle.com)
Pretty sure you have to go with the CNAME approach to get it working. Or maybe an "A" record or something like that? Let us know if you want a hand or something, happy to help you set it up.
Not all of the Domain Name Registrars have all the bells and whistels, so you may need to swap providers at the very worst.
