Ning email bridge

I am looking for a way to allow a member to email an entire group using his email client (say gmail) rather than the ning web site. I imagine I will need a custom coded bridge of some sort, but before I code it I am wondering if it already exists in some form, or if anyone has insight on how difficult it will be to create. Maybe I should elaborate. The functionality I'd like is the following: I send an email to "[e-mail]" from some email address. This email is then sent to everyone in the specified group in my Ning network, either directly or as a message within the Ning network. Thoughts?

I came to this forum looking for the exact functionality.

Yahoo Groups provides it.

Our Ning group loves using their email to read latest messages, and can then easily reply using email and it gets posted to Ning.
