This is a BIG, BIG problem. I was just made aware that ANYONE that starts a GROUP on my site, has access to ALL GROUP MEMBERS personal email addresses in "Manage Group Members." If there are 1,000 members in that group - all 1,000 email addresses are exposed!!! I have just gone in and see that my memberships personal email addresses are being shown. This is a violation of the Privacy Statement in effect on Ning. Does anyone know why the "email" addresses are exposed this way? Can this column be removed from the "Manage Group Members" template. Hackers are on the site and people have been wondering how their email addresses are being obtained and this is how. Can this be fixed? I DON'T WANT MY MEMBERSHIP'S PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESSES EXPOSED!
As Evan says over on this thread on Network Creators, this is a bug that was fixed several weeks ago - I believe it was in early June. Group Creators do not have access to the email addresses of their members, unless they are also the Network Creator or a network Admin. If your network is on the standard version of source code and a group creator who is not the Network Creator or network Admin can see group members' email addresses, please send us a message through the Help Center with a link to that group so we can investigate. Thanks!
