Ning Developer Docs

I have a member who is only in a single ning network and yet the number of friends shown by the ning toolbar (70) differ from the number of friends on her my page (44). Is there a reson for this?

thanks in advance, LongJohn

Long John - I'm really just guessing here but it would seem the ning bar is across all networks and the listing on the particular network would be her friends on just that network.
Rob,

Thanks for your comment but as I said in the post. She is only part of ONE network on ning, so I would expect her friends list to be the same on the ning bar as within that network.
Long John - Yea totally missed that. I'll shut up now.
Hi John,

It may be that she belonged to another network where she friended users and subsequently left, or she friended users on that single network who are no longer part of the network, or a combination of the two. You can always provide some additional details via the help center if you would like us to investigate.

Thanks,
Phil
It's OK guys I sorted it out. If someone invites you to be their friend on a network and you click the link, do the common ning new user sign on but don't do the profile questions from the network you started to join you get left with a ning only membership attached to no network that has a friend pointer to the network member who invited you even though you are not a member of that network and in fact you may not be a member of any network. In other words inviting someone to be a new member on a network is done as two steps which I would have thought should have been a single transaction but is in fact two transactions that happen sequentially.

Regards John
