Ridiculous: Impossible to search by city/state/country!
I just noticed something... I want my members to be able to search profiles by city/country but there seems to be no easy way to do this!
It's quite ridiculous that if you go to your profile settings and enter your city/country, it shows up nicely next to your avatar in member searches but entering a country/city in the search field has no effect. It's one of the most important things you should be able to search on but you can't.
It would be really great if I could just force users to enter their city/country upon login (because if you look at Ning networks, only like 1% of the users actually go to their settings to enter this info afterwards) and then allow my members to search on it.
The easiest fix would be to add additional required fields to profile questions for country/city but of course that could get messy once the functionality does arrive, right?

Hey there, yeah I figured it wouldn't be too hard but... It wouldn't be very functional if I couldn't force users to enter that info upon registration (otherwise nobody will use the search function of course since only 1% of the users have their location info in their profile).
So if you have any feedback on how I can implement that before I delve into researching this, feel free to let me know! -
