Can someone tell me if this is possible and, if so, outline the process.
I have a 3rd party site that maintains a membership database for some specific services. Users signup and login to that site on a daily basis.
I need to work out a way to automatically create ning accounts on my ning network and log those users in when they redirect from the other system to the nign network
Does all this make sense ?
Someone please help.
If necessary, we have funds for development of this solution.
I have a very similar need as Joe in the sense that I have a membership management application that we are being asked to integrate with Ning. Members sign up and log in to our membership management tool and we would need to be able to seamlessly allow those users to navigate over to Ning (without a separate login or sign up process).
So, is the "hack" described above our only option? Is there any info on whether single sign on capability is on the roadmap and what the high level timeline would be?
Randy, can I ask which membership management application you are considering? I'm just beginning my research to find a membership management app/service and would appreciate a shove in the right direction. Are there any compaies you'd recommend? Thanks!!!! Dave
The name of the membership management tool I'm working with is Members 360, developed by a company called Affiniscape. Now, I work for Affiniscape so I'm obviously biased. :-) But, depending on what you're looking for there are a number of solutions out there on the market. Affiniscape (my personal favorite :-) ), Avectra, and ASI are 3 pretty reputable companies that have offerings in the space.
