REST API: JSON question

Hey all-

I'm working on a cool OpenSocial app (sort of a miniNing, a gadget that displays information from your Ning profile on another network).

I have a lot working, but to go further i need to use the REST API, and JSON would be useful as the OS api is still easiest to work with in javascript.

Question: Why doesn't 'http://opensocialdemo.ning.com/xn/rest/1.0/profile:markitecht?xn_au...' return anything? It's basically the 'hello world' REST call described in the docs that ought to return my profile information.

I rooted through Firebug and pulled out a successful REST call: http://opensocialdemo.ning.com/xn/rest/1.0/profile:markitecht/contact(id%20in%20%5B'markitecht'%5D)?end=1&xn_auth=no&dojo.preventCache=1204654443986

that returns my contacts nicely in valid JSON.

Thoughts?
