Hi Duke,

Yep that's exactly right; just replace www.mydomain.com in both places in the example with the mapped domain that's currently serving up your Ning network.

Thanks,
Phil
Thank you so much, I just wasn't sure :)
Hi Phil and sorry to bother you again.
I've done all the steps but after trying this "Save the file, then test it out by going to the ning.com version of your address; it should automatically redirect you to the mapped version, and it will keep any url parameters intact."
it does go to my mapped domain but on a " Page not found"
To make things short I try to have http://my.scipo.us mapped to http://scipofriends.ning.com

When I type scipofriends.ning.com in browser it does redirect to my.scipo.us but is a error page?
I presume that the mapping is ok but...
How can I fix that please?
Thanks again for your support,
d.
Hi Duke,

Can you remove the modification for now and confirm that going to your mapped domain works correctly? if it doesn't work correctly, please let us know via the help center and we'll investigate.

Thanks,
Phil
I did removed the modification but doesn't work. My ning network shows now but not my mapped subdomain.
I did report this to the Help Center,
Thanks again,
D.
Hey,that was fast.Everything works wonder and my mapped subdomain works perfect.
Thank you very much!
D.
Great! Now you can modify the index.php file with the redirect again.

Cheers,
Phil
Hi Phil,
I finally figured it out...ok my husband did!....however when we copied and paste the code information, changed the domain name in both areas...the test page was blank, it didnt upload. What could we be doing wrong?

Charlene
Hi Charlene,

At the moment you're not doing DNS based domain mapping with your domain; you're doing what's sometimes called 'domain masking' and it involves having the Ning network appear in a frameset, so that's why this isn't working. Over at the help center we have a bunch of tutorials on how to set up a CNAME with various registrars. Just do a search on domain mapping.

Thanks,
Phil
Ive purchased the 'Use Your Own Domain' permium service, but the redirects are not working.

brownpages.ning.com works, but www.brownpages.net, (my registered domain name) does not. I've already changed my CNAME record on yahoo.

CNAME Record
Source: www.brownpages.net
Destination: brownpages.ning.com

Still nothing is working. what went wrong?
Empolying this code chage only shuts down the site completely.
Hi Daniel,

Please drop us a note via the help center and we can investigate this; the script above will only work once your domain mapping is working correctly, so please revert any changes you made have made to index.php until then.

Thanks,
Phil
I backed out the changes already. 24 hours later, the domain mapping is still incorrect. ie.

www.brownpages.net does not work but ning.brownpages.com does. Please help, paid $10 for the domain. lol :)
