title view and details view

Both the blog on my page and my blog on the front page will not display detail view when I select it. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Dan,

I'm seeing some CSS that is causing the descriptions not to show:


.xg_module_blog .description, .xg_module_blog .xg_module_body p {
display:none !important;
}

Is this something you have added manually?

Can you also confirm that you have this set to 'detail'.

If you've not added this manually, and you have it set to show 'detail', then please open a support ticket on the Ning Help Center, as something is not quite right with your network.

This code is the original code found in 'Appearance/Advanced'

but I don't see show 'detail'

I did add some of my own CSS (see 'My CSS at bottom') but that was all under 'Header & Navigation" section. And was just changes to the Hex colors.

I may have changed something by accident but I dont think so because that bit of code is under the 'General' section and as far as I know I didnt touch that section.

Hi Dan,

The 'detail' is in a div with the class 'description' - so the CSS I've shown there will make it disappear.

You can still see it if you "view source" on the page or look at it with the FIreBug plugin for Firefox (see below).

Take out the 'description' from that CSS and it should appear.

What theme are you using? Maybe there's something in a theme that shouldn't be?

Yes - if that is where you are seeing the CSS to 'display: none' the 'description'.

Could you tell me what theme you are using?

Somewhere along the way, the CSS that I listed in this reply is getting added to the page. This is why the blog description (body) is not being displayed.

I suspect it will be in the your 'advanced' appearance tab. Remove it and you should be set.

But my 'Video' and 'Picture tabs have disappeared again.

Sorry Phil, forget my last reply re: missing video/images tag. Forgot that i took them off front page when doing some redesigning and didnt put them back.
