Meta tag

I'v been trying to add a meta tag for days but google still cant verify it.. anyone dat knows how to do it? and is there any other way to get ur site seen in search engines?

Sorry I am a newbie to Ning, clearly...
Tried to copy my index.php via Dave error message...I think I need to do a meta tag for google as they are no longer indexing my site via the HTML verification page as of about 2 weeks ago, I did have a nice one but it just totally went away!

Can ANYONE HELP please....

Tried modifying in Dreamweaver with no success too.
