Is there any code/hack where you can add news ticker or rss feed under the tabs on your homepage?

I added the javascript in the attached file to the analytics section to add scrolling text under the tabs. You might be able to replace the text with some kind of feed.

I'm trying to do this now and it looks like it's not as easy as I thought it might be.
I looked at your scrolling text script. Looks like there's a missing > at the end of the closing MARQUEE tag.

Also, I think the Marquee tag only works on some browsers and not others.
Thanks for the script. Does anyone know how to replace the text with a clickable rss feed though?
Yeah, I noticed that missing angle bracket after I posted it. The code worked without it but that could cause some trouble.

The Marquee tag works on Firefox. I'll try it on some other browsers to see what happens.
I still don't have an answer for you but here's a widget you can put in a text box on your site, at least: http://www.widgetbox.com/widget/rss-scrolling-ticker

CNN has some widgets too: http://www.cnn.com/tools/index.html and the political ticker: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/
Question, is there a method of changing the speed of the scroll? Most of my members are getting on in years and it takes a bit to read the marquee at this speed.
Change the scrolldelay attribute of Marquee. Examples here:

Thanks a bunch TI. That did the trick.
You're Welcome, always glad to help!

With that underline, it's extremely hard to see that I'm using the nickname of TJ here, it does look like TI for sure. :)
LOL, got it. I just noticed that my name looks like Ierry... :)
I've found that this java script interferes with the drop down menus. It prevents them from coming down when highlighting a main menu selection. I wonder if this can be placed below a text box or other component on the main page?
