Hello,
I want to thank you for creating this wonderful tool which allows our students to have new experiences and communicate with each other while learning. I can't really express in words the feeling we all experience right now since we discovered Ning :):):)
our blog name is: scienceclassblogs.ning.com
I am Ms.F used my yahoo email address mashafleysh@yahoo.com to create the network.
We work in the Bronx, NYC, from 2 High Schools. Both of us experienced one problem.
I think the problem is that our computers are too old and do not function right, but I still hope you might help us.
Ning does not expire. What I mean: to sign out you must click on signout, because if you don't click you can come tomorrow or in a week and you are still on. You would say: just click on sign out and continue under a new name, but the old computers "freeze". So now we have several computers with signed in names that we cannot sign out. We tried to restart the computers; we tried pull them out of power completely. Nothing worked.
We figured out how to fix the problem on apple safari. We reset safari: the person gets signed out by resetting the safari. Unfortunately, whatever we tried on PC didn't work. This week we might not be able to use our blogs because there are some students signed in since last week.
I understand that I am asking too much. But maybe it is possible to have Ning expire so we have to sign in again every 30 min. Sorry for this unusual request :( I understand that many users will hate it because when they need to finish their work the computer throws them out, but maybe you can do it once a day, or when the site is closed it automatically signs you out.
Thank you very much again.
Have you tried clearing your cache in Safari to get rid of the remembered session? Personally, I would not like to have to sign in every hour or half an hour.
Using Internet Explorer, go into Internet Options under the Tools menu and then under Browsing History, click the Delete... button and then Delete Cookies... I believe that's why Ning thinks you're still signed in, its stored in a cookie on your Hard Drive and won't go away even if you power the computer off completely.
