
Bankside Publishing is an offshoot of the successful Regentlane Publishing Group of Cumbria which for years produced, among other things, the
Towns and Villages of Britain series of guidebooks as well as the later
Travelers Guides. In addition, dozens of other authors saw their work published and distributed throughout the UK including
The Cruise which accompanied the popular BBC1 television programmes.
After Regentlane Ltd was forced to cease trading due to serious sickness, rights to publish the books was acquired by two of the authors, Alan Bryant who was the author of the Towns and Villages guidebooks and Leon Edgar, author of spy thrillers and sci-fi novels.
Having the foresight to see the potential of the Internet, Leon decided that the future lay in E-publishing and began the lengthy task of converting the existing guides into web pages to be accessed by the public as

Bankside Publishing is non profit-making and seeks to assist new authors to get their work published, providing editorial assistance and backup as well as support on the Internet through a sister company.

In 2000, Leon teamed up with model Luna Lane with a view to also promoting new models on the Internet. After retiring, Luna went back to the profession she had trained for in university and began the
Eurospace pages while continuing her studies and working as student-teacher for CNES in Toulouse.
