Yes, I use a local copy of subversion and repository to store Ning code and my modifications. I did my first merge of 2.2.3 release and it did not go smoothly despite the one-click 3-way merge tool I received from Ning. It probably took 10+ hours to do the merge, fix massive problems caused by the merge. Also, while I'm on a merge rant, the tool didn't merge all my changes! I had to discover features I added that were missing and remerge those by hand. WHAT A NIGHTMARE. Really the process would have gone more smoothly with a decent amount of documentation.
