Ning Developer Network

G Ollison

I Suddenly cannot save content (not text, not html ... not anything) in text boxes!

Just that!! Starting yesterday content placed in a text box does not save --- in fact the box "freezed" -- it doesn't respond when I click "save" nor "cancel" ... just sits open and stares at me.

When I delete the content sitting in the window it STILL just stares at me and responds to no clicks.

My Network with this issue is BTWDallas.Ning.Com . Through last night I didn't seem to be having this issue with other Ning websites I have created.

PROBLEM SOLVED, IT SEEMS. (And it brings up something found out long ago that I never mentioned to Ning.)

On a hunch that maybe too many text boxes were on my front page (a few months back the platform would not let me add another if what seemed like a maximum number were already on the page) I removed one textbox in Manage mode. It seems NOW my text box changes instantly save as before.

** This may be a code issue Ning should know about ... or if it's by design maybe it should be announced to all Network Creators.

I have the same problems.
I ask me if it's the updates of windows every days for "Windows 7" make this problems.

I don't think so my friend -- at least in my case, since I am using Windows XP Service pack 2, and this problem didn't exist for me until 12 hours before I posted the issue. My guess is that it's some result of ongoing updates to the platform and someone at Ning just needs to track down the glitch.

God Bless You!

Hey G Ollison,

There are a few networks that have been seeing issues with this lately. Our engineering team has created a one off fix for these, and I've gone ahead and applied this to your network. If you need further help with this, please let us know in the Ning Help Center.

I experienced the same issue but an email to the Tech Dept solved my problem. After the "one off" fix everything has been working fine.

I am guessing that a recent change to the Ning architecture has caused this issue with some networks as it happened to more than one network at the same time. The Techies know their stuff when it comes to repairing things though :)
