Help with the NING header size and finding a copy of the NING CSS standard template

Hi all, I am a newbe to editing NING. I know some CSS, but need to know what NING call each of its page elements. When I last looked a year or so back there was CSS script in my page style section and also a link to download the code. Now this as gone.

I am looking to change the size of my Header Image and the background colour for the navigation tabs that run along the top of the page.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read ....Steve

Try Firebug (extension for Firefox) or WebDeveloper (for firefox too) it will help you identify elements...

Hi Saf, thanks for the help, I will download these extensions and give them a go. Knowing where to start when your new is tricky. I wonder if there are any customising NING books around?

Thanks
Steve

In your CSS your going to be looking for xg_masthead that is the header DIV of the NING sites,

Just right click on your site to do a VIEW SOURCE and FIND xg_masthead and you will see that the navigation DIV is right below it under application link DIV

Hi Eric, thanks, I downloaded firebug and I am getting to grips with NING CSS headers. Using the panel to add the CSS script, through my common sense. Thanks for putting me back on track ....Steve

I know HTML, CSS and all things programming...but I felt overwhelmed jumping into NING trying to figure out what is what with the CSS and trying to override sizes and designs and so forth... LOL
