Help the profile Avatars have gone missing from my NING site!

Hi can anybody give me any pointers as to restoring my avatars? There used to be a male and female silhouette in the place of a blank user profile picture and they have gone missing, leaving behind a box shape with no content. This shape also messes with surrounding text. Any help getting these features back would be very much appreciated.

Did you fix this yet? I know you can change your avatars on the site in the MANAGE panel and it is under
NETWORK APPEARANCE
