Ning Developer Network

Boy! is it hard to contact Ning support! Maybe you need to change something. I'm sure many like me cannot get answers from your HELP system.

Anyway... we have a Ning network called 'Innocent Awareness Magic', and a person named Alistair with email address cannot join our network, since Ning reports that his email is already used. HOWEVER, he has not joined our network!!

How can this be? Is it a bug in Ning?

Can you fix it so Alistair can join our network

Love and peace,

Sol Millin

Sorry, to hear about your problem but Ning support is usually timely. You have also exposed poor Alistair's email address to search engines but putting it on this page.

Wow! Thank you for pointing this out dear Doone. I've now erased his email address off of the message.

Well, believe it or you haven't, in anyway, answered any of my questions.

Perhaps I should restate them:

1. Is there anyway to email or contact Ning directly with a problem? (a question)

I and a number of other Ning users, have searched quite diligently and cannot find anyway yet to do this.

2. Alistair could not login. However, he now ok. I tried to login for him and arranged for his password to be sent to his email address. It now works.

Love and peace,

Sol

Sol: usually if someone cannot log in because the email is in use is because someone else is using it..just go to manager and open the members button..there you can find the em address and check it. try sending a message to it and see what happens...there are tons of scammers out there just looking for am email address to use for their illegal gains..try to be careful. I sometimes google an email address or name that appears to be questionable just to see where it leads me..also to let you know.. IP addresses can be changed so you are tricked about their origin...there are sites out there that can help you better understand scammers and dangers.

Thanks Annie,

Much appreciated.

You are now the second respondent who has read my message and not replied to the first question!

Once again...

help.ning.com is your best bet.

Well, in my experience help.ning.com just gives a whole lot of tips and if it doesn't answer the question...

You're on your own buddy!

Maybe I'm wrong but that's my experience.

There is no way to send a direct email.

Maybe this developer site is the best bet.

So maybe I have to answer my own question.

Dear Sol, there is no way to send an email to Ning support. Please go to developer.ning.com and ask that cyberspace your question. Someone will take pity on you as a bewildered Ning.com user and try and help you.

We just don't want to be bothered with direct emails. It takes up too much of our scarce resources.

Thanks for your interest.

Love and peace,

Sol

Welcome to Ning!

If he has already joined another network, get him to "Sign In" rather than "Sign Up", sounds like a workflows issue.

Failing that, get him to use another email address to join your site.
