I'm trying to implement a resources page that allows members to leave comments about each resource listed. What I did is create a forum category titled 'resources' and allow only the admin to start discussions under this category. Then I went into tab manager and created a new 'resources' tab and pointed it to the url of the resources forum category. Now from the resources page I start a new discussion for each organization that serves as a resource to the network. Users can post comments about each organization in this way.
Since I'm not really using this forum category as a forum, I'd like to customize the standard links found on the page accordingly (http://sspnetwork.ning.com/forum/categories/resources-1/listForCate...), such as changing 'add discussion' to 'add sponsor', remove the 'My Discussion' link from this page only (still need it on our 'forum' page which is truly another forum category, also), and remove my avatar from each discussion entry. Oh and remove the 'Latest Activity' column. I was able to remove some links by modifying the Language Editor with the comment tags. However this change is universal so can not be used as a final solution in all cases.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to change those links on just that one category and not have them changed on other discussion categories. One way to get around this would be to use the pages feature instead. If you go to http://sspnetwork.ning.com/page, you can add pages here and use these as resources. If you need further help with this, feel free to contact us in the Ning Help Center.
I did consider that, but couldn't figure out how to allow users to leave comments for each resource listed. If I could make the page a forum of some sort or even an RSS feed I'd be able to accomplish what I'm trying to do. Since the main page can have rss, forum, blog modules is there a way to incorporate those modules on pages?
