Ning Developer Network

I probably screwed this up....

on www.vinoshippersocial.com ( a ning social network)
I think ( its been a while ) I used the Easy Page Add by using the
http://examplenetwork.ning.com/page/instance/edit replacing examplenetwork with vinoshipper and created a NEWS TAB and PAGES (that may have been the NOTES pages that I renamed NEWS - like I said its been awhile since I looked at this.)

Any way... I just tried to use this again and .../page/instance/edit gave me an odd message - "Our apologies – this page was not found"

what is that all about...

Have you changed the path to edit??

Or is there another problem??

Since then I poked around in the instance Folder and added a page folder and widget-configuration.xml file as suggested in the Advanced tutorial. I tried adding a links folder and config file - Nothing seems to work to allow me to add a NEW TAB named Links and a Subsequent Links Page.

Baffled and confused now...

advise please.

I'm having the same problem, and have tried the same things. I was wondering if it have had something to do with the fact I just requested the source code access? But I can't seem to add any new pages either.

Sharing your confusion...

page/instance/edit should work if you still have a /page URL. If it does not work for you it might mean you deleted the page directory. You should probably contact Ning support.

Clearing Your Cache from a Ning Tutorial

If you're only making a few changes, clearing your cache manually is the easiest way to proceed. After you've made manual changes to any of the cached files, you can clear the cache by following these steps:

1. Log into your social network as the Network Creator
2. Clear the cache by visiting http://examplenetwork.ning.com/lib/scripts/invalidateCache.php, replacing examplenetwork.ning.com with the domain name of your network.

What should happen when you clear the Cache

✔ W cache invalidated
✔ XG cache invalidated
✔ XN cache invalidated

Done the Cache Clear.... Still the same error msg. The cache has nothing to do with the editor being missing.... apparently.

"Our apologies – this page was not found" is the error msg. From this msg I assume that ning has removed it from the full path location.

Any chance Ning - that it will be replaced???

If you WinSCP you can look in the INSTANCES directory to confirm the presence lack of presence of the page tab. You should have a directory called PAGE.
