Making your nav menu look unique

You've probably noticed that the majority of nav menus for networks on Ning have navigation that goes after the masthead, from left to right. But if you want something that looks a little more different, you can always change the visual style of the navigation bars using CSS. Here are some screenshots of demo networks with different types of navigation menus, with a link to the network itself.

The following network has its navigation menu at the top of the masthead image, instead of the bottom:

While this has its network flush left:

For the network creators that want to use some of these alternative navigation menus, go to the demo network, copy and paste the code in the "CSS Used" module and put it Advanced CSS textbox - you can find this by going to the Manage menu and clicking on the Advanced Tab.

Do think it could be possible to achieve a main page with a circular menu and hidden features (like movies and such) or something like this?

one question i have is, i am new to css how do i change the image to my own, i have a banner i have made myself and want to use that, but not sure where to put it or what to change to use it.

i have tried but all i can get is the image showing up about 6 times and only want to show it once.

any help would be really greatfully received

It worked for me. I would like to add my own picture on that place.
Also, I would like to add small icons on the left side of each main navigation tab.In a post I saw the smallerindiana's site for reference. But they removed the icons in the navigation.
Expecting curiously your valuable suggestion and CSS for adding the icon and picture on site.

Hi - I used the first option on the network I created for myself, but when we went to use it on another network, there were boxes around each of the Tabs on the masthead. I was wondering if there was something we can do top remove the boxes from around the tabs ... Help?
