Instead of having event types, I'd like to be able to choose groups into which the event fits and auto invite the members of those groups to the event. Is that possible ?
As there does not seem to be so much interest in the thread, I'll try to explain it a little more with an example.
Let's say I have an outdoor network with groups for
- hicking
- climbing
- camping
I have the members Ben, Gen and Dan.
- Ben is in
- hicking
- climbing and
- camping
- Gen is in
- climbing only
- Dan is in
- camping only
I post an event for a 2 days hike. This has to do with hicking and camping so I choose those two groups/categories. Ben and Dan are then automatically invited to the activity, but not Gen as she does not care about hicking or camping.
Seems easy to do, but I dont see how to do that with the platform.
Hey guys, at www.ningmods.com, we are working on an Apps Club, and one of the apps is adding some features to Groups, its mostly designed and built already in fact, and we intend to make this available in the next month or so, after launch this weekend.

This is a great idea. I was just making a group specific event and was looking for this feature instad of boucing back and forth to the group pages to get all the member names.
I usually copy the event url and write to everyone in the related groups pasting the url, it's much easier. But still, I cant count on the users to do so.
