Automatically a friend of new member

I am creating my first ning network and I would like to know if there is a way to (as they creator/administraor) automatically be someone's friend when they first sign-up (like Tom on myspace does)?

Were you able to achieve this. I too am interested in this feature. I would like to automatically assign specific administrators or myself (the site owner) as new users friends. Let me know. Thanks.

this feature should me on top of ning's list come next release....i think this feature is a must for moderators..

This is a great idea. I also want to do this. This should be KEY feature in order to spur more activity on sites.

Also I think admins should be able to assign members to certain groups as well. i.e. their first group.

I was trying to achive this but couldn't so I asked Ning.
Hello Dustin,
We would like to offer this but can't for the following reasons:
1.) Violates Privacy Policy
2.) Doesen't prevent Spamers
and there are also a few more reasons that we cannot share.

I found out that it could have been done but this was before the disabled Source code access.
